winding sound after trunk is closed
 

I have been noticing winding sound even after trunk has closed. I was wondering what if this is normal.

I hear it too. Probably normal.

I also hear it on our 2010 model year. I have checked a couple of Q5's at the dealership and they also have the identical sound after the tailgate closes.

Same here, pretty sure it is just the locking mechanism engaging.

they all do that noise
it was the same on the Honda Legend front doors when shutting smoothly

Its a soft close and locking device, the same as the A8's soft close system for the doors.
