I bought my 2018 Q5 in February 2018. In September I was on a short vacation and this started happening. I thought I'll ask about it when I bring the car in for an oil change which was going to be in about 2 weeks. 24 hours later, the window stopped working. Wouldn't roll down or up and could hear knocking noises inside the door. Called the dealership and they said bring it in so made an appointment to stop in on the way home (dealership is 3 hours from home) and on the way the window started slipping. I had to drive for a few hours with the driver's window down about 3-4 inches. They had to replace some part (which had to be ordered) to fix it. They gave me a loaner and I had to wait a few days and then drive back 3 hours to get the car. (I was thrilled to get the loaner as my husband was unable to drive 3 hours to come and get me!) Window was fixed under warranty.

Don't know if it's the same thing or not but that's what happened to me.

Just received Shin Etsu silicone grease and applied on the door trim. Will check back if creaking noise is still there.

Noise is still present on the car. I am kind of disappointed that car with 9000 miles has more rattles/squeaks than Toyotas we had for many years.

I would like to get my serviced at the dealer. Do you think they will give me a loaner? Car may need a new window regulator and rattle resolved.

Your car is CPO. If the dealership fails to give you a loaner, find another dealership.

Dropped car off at the nearest dealer and all they did was to lubricate channels, which obviously did not fix the issue. I think the glass on driver side door is definitely loose.

I am going to bring my car back to the dealer.

I think it could be one of two issues:

1. Channels on the side of the glass are not adjusted correctly holding the glass tight.
2. Window regulator is somehow loose and banging against the door skin.

Any update on solving your window problem? I’m noticing the same rattle on my driver side window.

Dealer reluctantly agreed to replace window regulator which eliminated the rattle.

I had the same issue. My dealer jumped on it no issue at all. Start looking for a new dealer...

Lubricate the seal on top of the window which meets the door frame. See pic.
