Default 2017 SQ5 Big Blindspot Mirrors

I've read a little about others having the same problem my wife is having; she can't see cars to her forward left because the side rear views are HUGE!

I just spent about an hour on the phone with local dealer and AudiUSA. They couldn't help. I wanted to know if there is another Audi model that could offer a mirror that would be SMALLER and is interchangeable. AudiUSA also told me there is no way to know how many others have made the similar complaint, which in 2018, is absurd! Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you raise the seat a couple inches?

Well would you rather have less visability in your rear blind spots or simply raise the seat as another member suggested. My wife is 5'1 and see everything just fine for the record.

Love to see how this plays out.
Where I could understand this may be an unique issue in the original posters situation, and we have no additional details on why wife can see around the mirrors, but really what would Audi (either a dealership service department or Audi AG) be able to do.
Adjusting ones driving style to factor in obstacles could be a good start.

She has positioned seat every which way. To have more visibility, she needs to lift the seat high enough to where she cannot exit the car without lowering the seat, because (steering) column is too close... Today, I learned a coworker has a 16' SQ5 and we discussed her same problem, she is 5-5", taller than my wife...

Truthfully, a SMALLER rearview mirror! I could see rear traffic with two shiny spoons taped to the sides. I'm 5-5", she is 4-11" (our son is 6-8").
It is too bulbous and closely attached. Every seat configuration has been exhausted.

Mirrors are small compared to the GIANT vehicle beside her. Not sure how this is even a problem. Like come on already...

I'd suggest you just sell this giant beast and find a little smart car with tiny mirrors that "fixes" the issue.

I'm assuming you have a 1st gen SQ5 based on the model year, but the new SQ5 has the mirrors on the door instead of the A pillar which should help your issue.

Same as all the other digital enthusiast threads; ignorance, blame, and zero solutions! You have a 2018. Why do you think YOUR model has mirrors mounted on the DOOR below the glass? Because it opens visibility where the pillar meets the door. Although that seemingly small amount of space looks insignificant, it makes a huge difference in the seat. Your logic insinuates that we share the road with nothing but RV's, trains, and trucks. Lower smaller cars, pedestrians, cyclists, and other rogue miscellaneous objects are invisible.

There's no assuming it's Gen 1 - It is a 2017. Your solution is buying a 2018? I was looking for something a smidge more practical...
