2018 SQ5 Engine Oil
Hey guys,
Do you know what engine oil is used in the 2018 SQ5? It’s not listed on the hood or the book.
Mother than going to the dealer, you know where to get it?
They recommend casterol professional

You can get it online but it's the same price from my dealership and no shipping
I've run the above castrol for every change. Been thinking if trying liqui moly as I've heard great things about it too

The 3.0L in the SQ5 has had great results with our synthetic oil specifically made for all VW/Audi cars that require the 508 00 / 509 00 spec. Available here or you can find locally with our Dealer Locator:

Your local VW dealer may also be a source for this new oil. It needs to meet the 508/509 specification. I don't think substitutions are permitted at this time.

It does say right under the hood to the left of the latch
Sticker says “Use Only VW508 Oil” The owners manual also has this information.
The car takes Castrol Edge 0w20 VW 508/509 Spec. Note the oil color is Green so the Audi techs don’t put the wrong oil in the car...except they don’t check and have filled several new SQ5s here on the board with the older spec VW502 5w40 Oil.
Right now you can only get this Oil at a few places and only a couple other companies are making 508/509 spec oil (Castrol, Motul & Champion).

When I had my dealer do my free change, the invoice didn't specify which oil. Due to the experience of a few here, I had them confirm and got a screenshot of the oil spec / label. It seems better a year + after the B9 was released. The first time I asked the parts person about buying a quart, they were clueless.
