Let me preface this by saying that I generally prefer larger diameter wheels when given the choice and sometimes even overlook any styling/design shortcomings just to have the larger diameter option. That said, I really loved the 21" option on our former 2014 SQ5, and choosing it was a no-brainer even though it did force me to acquire a second set of wheels for winter tire use. On the other hand, I wasn't crazy about the styling of the 21" option for our new 4M Q7, yet I chose it anyway, because in this case bigger still looked better.

I can't really say the same for the 2018 SQ5's 21" wheel option though. Maybe I just need to warm up to its "unique" spoke design more, but after seeing it at NAIAS and staring at more photos over the last week, it's not really happening. The design kinda irks me a bit. Perhaps I'm in the minority for saying that I wish we had a better 21" option, but I might actually go for the standard and more conventionally-designed 20" wheel, with the added bonus of being able to get them with all-seasons from the factory which eliminates the need for a second set of winter wheels. What do you all think about the 20" vs 21" thing strictly from a design perspective on this model? (ignoring any personal requirement for all-season tires that you may have)

Completely agree with you. The 20's look a lot better to me than the 21's. I ordered mine on 20's. It's possible the 21's will grow on us, but I like the look of the Audi 5 double spoke star design. Have a similar looking set of 19's on my 2014 Q5 S line right now.

I didn't see the option to get it with all season tires rather than summer tires, wonder if they're including all seasons standard here in Canada. Will contact my dealer, thanks for the heads up.

Was just playing with Q5 Canada and when you hit 20" wheels here's what you get:

5-spoke Segment design wheels with contrast grey finish, size 8J x 20, with 255/45 all-season tires (contained in S line Sport Package)

Yes I actually like the Q5's 20" wheel option... even better than the SQ5's 21" wheel option.
