2019 SQ5 headlight removal question.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure you were clear previously.
Is it the expel that is damaged or the actual headlight? It would be very difficult to damage the headlight behind expel even being aggressive when cleaning. It would literally need to be vandalism level of aggressiveness to burn through that and the headlight
Even without film, I'm just not sure how this could be done by an aggressive wash. Either the light is defective or someone really screwed up. On such a new car, there's really nothing in-between

I don't think you have ever pulled an Audi headlight before, or you wouldn't be self-volunteering to buy an expensive headlight for a new vehicle and then try to swap it -- unless there is more to this story you aren't sharing. It's a HUGE PITA to get the lights or grill out. I've swapped my grill for a black honeycomb, and wouldn't really want to repeat that process even though I'm insanely mechanically inclined.
If it's defective, get them to warranty it. If the dealer is saying no, then find another one.

Wondering if this has been resolved -- dealer, AOA or OP?

Unfortunately no. Doing the grill allows the lighting to remain in place, it's only the radar for active cruise control comes out.
