Accessory Mode

Do these cars not have an accessory mode where you can listen to the radio for a couple of minutes without having the ignition on? I am aware that the radio still works after the engine is turned off, but the radio stops as soon as the driver's door is open.

As far as I can tell, there is no accessory mode. And yes, I did try to find it in the owner's manual, but was not successful.

Thanks!

Hit the engine start without your foot on the brake

I believe that turns on the ignition, not Accessory Mode. By that, I mean that it turns on all the dash lights, primes the fuel injectors, etc..

All the cars, I have previously own, or driven had 4 ignition modes: Off - Acc. - On - Start. The 2018 SQ5 seems to have only three: Off - On - Start.

You are right pressing the start on without a foot on the brake is like placing a key ignition in to ON/RUN position

have you tried pressing the mmi power (round volume nub) down when in car after you unlock the doors ?

I just went outside to verify myself, as I thought if you press the power on with key inside it will turn on the MMI

Try the right most button on the row below the HVAC controls.

I am sure the Q5 works the same way, but I have found that on my S5 the radio can be turned on when the car is completely off. Just press the power/mute button in the center console and it will turn on. To turn it off, you have to press and hold that same button until the system shuts off (or you can cycle the ignition and it will turn it off too).

I see that no one reads the post other then responding after reading the OP post. Best part is the OP is not even responding:)

I apologize, I was away from the computer. Yes, I tried the MMI button and it worked. I will also try the screen Off/On button next to the HVAC controls.

Thank you everyone for your responses. Always a wealth of knowledge as usual.
