Default ADD OIL

Had to add 1 qt. of oil after 3500 miles, not a good sign. Hope it gets better after some more miles.

What prompted this? Did your check engine light go off? Oil level lower than the limit in MMI? Without context the post isn't helpful.

Not the end of the world. You're dealing with a turbo... Oil consumption happens.

If it happens a lot and very frequently, take it into the dealership. 1 qt down (or less, really) doesn't sound too bad.

While not specific to Audi, Consumer Reports says their 10-year data on cars that burn oil in the early years indicates they will continue to burn oil as they age, but at a higher rate.

They also stated that they found no correlation between cars that burn oil and engine problems, unless you consider burning oil a problem in the first place.

I should preface this: (1) no offense intended to the OP and (2) I work with numbers for a living and not particularly qualified to opine on car engines.

That said, I'm curious as to whether people believe that the manner in which the car is driven in the first 1k-1.5k miles has any long-term impact on oil consumption.

I had a 2012 BMW X3 and a 2014 X5 both with twin turbo with no oil consumption
