Default Alternatives to Pirelli 255/40r21

Hello all,

As the title suggest I’m looking for quality alternatives to Pirelli 255/40r21 summer tires for my 18 SQ5. Current Pirelli’s travelled about 34k miles before getting down to 3/32, but would be interested in tires that this community has experience having equal or greater life.

Side note, 34k is actually really good for the Pirellis. A lot of people report anywhere from 10k to 20k. I got the unlucky 10k life unfortunately.

If you don't have to contend with extreme cold/snow/ice, perhaps a max performance tire would interest you. For my SQ5, top of the list for tire replacement is the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. It's 265/40/21 so it may affect the odometer by 1% but for me the reputation, quality, ride, and performance of the Pilot Sport line is worth it. They're about $375 at tire rack.

Mine lasted 21K miles...mostly highway miles. Replaced them with similar Pirellis with 300 hardness rating. Not a ton of options out there

Michelin Pilot Spor AS 3+ are the best all season option, otherwise any Michelin Pilot Sport tire would be good if you want a summer option.

They don't make this tire yet so I just went with the same tire. I was told by Audi that my tires needed to be replaced and I said I would take care of it. Got home did some homework and found that no one has this tire size. The next day I was back at Audi because they were the only one's that had the tire in stock. They did match the price I gave them from Discount Tire thou which I thought was nice.

As a side note, are the AO tires any different than what you'd get anywhere else or is it purely a branding difference so they can be more difficult to match prices?
