The side mirrors on my '18 SQ5 do not appear to want to move in this direction. I just tried and it felt like I was going to break something if I applied any more pressure.

I use a small electric leaf blower. That and a microfiber towel to get the last bits that drip and it seems to work fine. Been doing this on my cars for a long time (well over a decade).

I like your thinking! I wonder if the cops will accept that as an excuse...but I still had water drops so obviously I wasn't going fast enough officer!

This is a great find, wish I had known about it long ago. I washed the car yesterday and there wasn't a single drip from the mirror:

Boo, my 2018 S5 mirrors don't want to do this. They'd have to rotate at the attachment to the car and they show no signs of movement there.

Yeah, I found the '11 A4 does it and our '15 Q5, but not the 2006 wagon. I've tried other cars and they will move forward but remain level and the water doesn't drain.

I don't see an MKII in your signature, so this feature/post might not apply. Anyone else with an '18 or later able to do this with their mirrors?

Did it today. 2018 q5
worked great

tip. Don’t carry the keys in your pocket and try to dry the car. The car will lock and the mirrors will fold. Even from the “drying position”.

Huh...I tried moving the mirrors down on both our 2018 A4 and 2018 Q5, and neither would. I didn't want to force it in case it broke off. I think I'll ask the dealer if he knows if it's doable.

I did it today on my 2018 Premium Plus (7/18 build), and it really helped!
