Apple CarPlay issue with 2018 Q5
When I'm using apple CarPlay and my pre sensors go off, CarPlay is turned off, and when I try to engage CarPlay again on my screen, it seems like it freezes. I always have to replug my phone and then I can use CarPlay. It's so frustrating, wondering if anyone else has this issue.

Same Issue with our 2018 SQ5

We are told Audi is aware of the issue and currently has no solution. This is happening in the early shipment of 2018 models. We are told the newest models currently shipping have a different MMI unit and do not have this problem. We are wondering if this is a potential lemon law issue.

That’s interesting info...mine is a 210xxxx VIN, which means it was built not too long ago (took delivery on 1/2 and the car was pulled from the port) so I’ll keep an eye out to see if this issue occurs on mine.

I have the same problem with mine. Got mine in June of 2017 and have 15,000 miles on it now and always have the Apple Car Play freeze on me or just disconnect. I have to unplug and plug back in constantly. Took it in for my 10,000 mile service and they gave me a newer Q5 that did not have the problem. It also had newer firmware and I begged them to update my firmware and they said that there is no firmware update available and that Audi is aware of the problem with car play and that part of it could be my phone. They said that I should not have updated to IOS 11. Bull crap! Typical to always blame the customer...

Not sure how much I believe these statements. Mine was delivered 12/15, making it a later model 2018, and my iPhone randomly disconnects from carplay as well. Super annoying too.

I got my 2018 q5 prestige oct 2017 and do not have this problem. I have an iPhone X with latest iOS and have no issues at all actually. I was worried initially.
