I believe the cost is negotiable, but we were quoted $1179 for our Q5, bought last week. Since it is a 220 mile round trip to the nearest dealer, and we have a great local ex-Audi mechanic nearby, it was not worth it to me. However the F&I person talked my wife into buying it when she went to pick up the car, I called and asked them to send a new contract without the Audi Care services, which they did.

Yeah, this doesn't quite make sense. The parts for the DSG service alone are over $300 dollars and that does not include labor. The labor cost is is higher, because it's a several hour procedure that requires filling the transmission, bringing it to operating temp, top it off, cool it down and do it again. That's blocking a service bay for several hours. You don't get a service done at any dealership for $125. The cost varies depending on model. It seems a better value on higher trim cars such as RS models, though, as the service cost on those is much higher if you pay for each one whereas Audi Care is not that much more expensive for an RS model. They probably do make a lot of profit with Audi Care on A/Q model, but on RS models they definitely lose money with Audi Care.

the other thing it does is insulate you against parts costs going up and labor costs going up, and on a lease, bumps residual

Audi dealer is 30 miles away. VW dealer 1 mile away will do oil change, inspection, etc for $89. I can change dust/pollen filter myself.

Audi encouraged me to get Audi Care for $869 which covers next 4 visits (20k, 30k, 40k, 50k) which equals $217 per visit. Any real reason to pay $217 at Audi vs $89 at VW?
I assume that was a rhetorical question.

I got emails from the dealer with $100 off coupons to purchase Audi Care for both of our cars. That brought the cost down to $769 for the Q5, $599 for the Q3.

I am no dealer but I bet that 125 per service is for the basic agreed price. Just like the health insurance. You have a sticker and a negotiated.

Wiper blades are misleading, read the fine print. I just had my 35K Audicare service on my 2015 Q5 TDI. For wiper blade replacement my dealer said they are not covered and quoted me $57.50 for the front with $42 installation and $33 for the rear with another $42 for installation. Ended up getting Bosch on Ebay for half as much and installing in less than 5 minutes myself. Anoyed that they would charge 2 installation fees. Also anoyed that the air filter is not covered. They didn't even check the air filter because after when i checked it it it was all clogged up, what a difference when changed!

Don't get me started about wiper blades! The rear blade on my '18 Q3 FELL OFF the first time I used it less than 2 months after buying the car. Dealer wanted $36 to replace because it was a wear item. I explained that it did not wear out, it fell off. He said it was easy to unlatch the blade and asked if I had washed the car recently. I showed him the service ticket from having them wash the car 2 days prior. He promptly refunded my money.

The 20K/2- year service also includes replacing the brake fluid. Our dealer quoted us $179 for the fluid change alone, or $494.95 for the total service, which is a pretty good chunk of the Audicare total cost. It may not be such a bad deal after all, for 4 visits. The total service for $494 does NOT include the brake fluid change!

I actully think Audi Care is a great deal, especially compared to what we pay for our Mercedes GLC service visits. Seems like a no brainer to me, unless you like doing that stuff yourself.
