Battery location FY Q5 - that is model year 2018 on
 

While reading the user manual to try and locate the vehicle's battery, which was useless, I came across this youtube clip on where the battery is located and how to access it.
Thought this needs to be shared or filed where we can find it.

I just took delivery of my 2019 Q5 yesterday and I was looking over the new vehicle with one of my boys.
We were looking at the engine bay and wondering where Audi decided to put the battery in this vehicle. (I had a Q7 and the battery was under the drivers seat)
I log in to the forum and what do I see as a brand new post right at the top???..........

My 60's beetle had the battery under the back seat. On the old Beetles, when the floor would rot out (And they always did) it would drag along the ground

:D Thanks for the nostalgia I remember repairing the rotted floor on my early 70's bug. On the plus side, you didn't have to program the car after changing the battery.

I'm pretty sure you just can't drop a battery in on a late model Audi. The battery part/model needs to be coded with vcds or vagcom otherwise it will not charge properly.

Nope, that is true. Not sure what the details are, but the car needs to be coded after a battery change.
