Bumper guards
Well, I've discovered a poor design aspect of the Q5. The "lenses" on each side of the rear bumper are situated exactly where another similarly sized vehicle will "tap" when parallel parking sloppily.
I regularly visit NYC and parallel park on the street. During the 20K maintenance, the dealer brought my attention to the fact that both lenses are intact but cracked, and that in Massachusetts they'll need to be replaced in order to pass inspection. Each lens runs around $350.
Has anyone purchased bumper guards for the Q5?

I prefer a 6" trailer hitch out back! Haha
Really a damn shame how badly bumpers get chewed up in cities. My buddy lives in upstate but works in Manhattan. His garage consists of a gt3, range rover,.... And a 2005 Honda accord. Guess which one goes into the city with him!

Yes, a damned shame. But, I wish Audi hadn't put those lights on the corners of the bumper. I can accept (though not be happy) with some paint touch up work. But, to pay that much to replace those lights lenses is a BIG drag.
