Dipping wing mirrors

I recently bought a 2015 SQ5 and I've just read today how to activate the dipping wing mirrors (turning the mirror adjuster to the left mirror). My question is should this dip both mirrors? Only the passenger side mirror is being dipped, not the drivers side mirror.

Thanks,

ThunderSpook

Next time try posting in the right subforum, but only the passenger side mirror dips when reversing your vehicle.

My AMG's did, tho you would have to select which side (with a rotary knob similar to ours) before putting in reverse. So 90% of the time it was just set to the right mirror.

Thanks, and sorry. Missed the MKII bit. Nice of you to point that out as the first thing you say to a new member though.

i was fairly sure the newer BMW’s dip both sides, but not 100% sure.

i think this is a fix as the car will use the same component in UK and will need to dip the left mirror.

My precious Lexus Nx would dip both, but the SQ5 only dips the passenger side even if I turn the knob to the driver side it would not dip. Wonder why.

Been that way on VW/Audi cars for years (at least, US models).

My X3 only dips passenger side. Not driver side. Same with all my Audis
