I haven't been able to find out how to set the side mirrors to automatically fold in when you shut the car off. Is this possible?

Folding is tied to locking...

Menu > Vehicle > Vehicle Settings > Central Locking > Fold Mirrors > Check this box.........This will automatically fold the mirrors closed when shutting down, and open the mirrors when hitting the start button

We have our side mirrors to fold in when door locks, but can we set them to fold in when we shut the car engine off (like when we are in our garage)?

Yes there are a couple of ways:
You can move the mirror adjustment switch to fold in the mirrors when you exit the vehicle, or
you can lock the vehicle on exiting, allow the mirrors to fold in, then just open the drivers door to have the vehicle unlocked.

Remotely folding in the mirrors without locking the vehicles is not possible.

I just leave as is and fold them with the mirror switch when needed. One less thing that’s constantly moving to break over time

The mirrors unfold when the car is turned on. I would like to have the mirrors unfold when the doors are unlocked? Resulting in parked car doors locked, mirrors folded in - unlocked car mirrors folded out. Several cars that I have had operate using this method, can't seem to get this Audi Q5 to do it. Suggestions, please.

Not possible. The mirrors fold either when you lock the car or turn the mirror switch to folding. They will unfold when you either turn the vehicle on or turn the switch off folding.
