Gear selector stuck in neutral
My wife was parking the car (Q5), and when she tried to switch from'D' to'R', the gear selector stuck in 'N'. As she described it she could not move it out of 'N' to 'D' either. She had to turn the ignition off and on again, and then she was able to continue.
Did anyone here had a similar experience? It happened only once in 1 week she drives the car.

EDIT: never mind, she just accidentally moved the gear selector to the right.

This happened to me today backing up from a grocery parking spot and could not select "D" (Drive) coming from "R" (Reverse).
Had to put it in park by pressing "P" on the shifter then it shifted to "D". Was not to thrilled about it since I was blocking the road trying to get it to shift to drive.
Shifter was not on manual mode (toggled to the right) in my case. Just the basic normal operation. I'm very familiar with the new shifter as my rental cars when I travel for business trips are mostly the new A4's.
