I seem to have had issues with the finish on my car from the beginning. The color is Azores Green and I love it. I love my car for the most part. The dealer talked me into their “paint” protection package. I wish I had never done it but it’s done. When they first applied it there were swirl marks on my car which they repaired with buffing I am sure. The car is kept in the garage and is washed about every two weeks with a high quality car wash then dried. About 2 weeks ago I washed the car and noticed spots that would not come off. I stopped by the body shop that had repaired a piece of trim for me after getting backed into and they said it appeared to be etching in the topcoat and they thought the car would need to be repainted. So I take it to my dealer and they applied round two of the pro pack telling me it was fixed. I got to pick up the car and the spots are still on the hood. They bring the detailing guy up who claims it looks like bird droppings (the car is almost ALWAYS garaged)and he buffs with a small handheld buffer and it seems to remove the spots in one tiny area. Now they want to do this to the whole hood. He did say there was some risk in doing this. What do I do? I asked if this was a paint quality control issue and of course the answer was no. That looks horrible. I would put up a huge stink with the dealer. You paid for their ‘paint protection’ and it looks like its not working...
