Q5 2019 HP rating
Hello,
I noticed that the new 2019 Q5 has less HP than the 2018 model (for the 4 cylinder now called 45). Same displacement, same torque but less HP. Any idea why? Are there any changes or were they a little bit too optimistic a year ago? M. |
new rating system yields lower mathmatical results

Yes, the engine and output are the same, but they changed the HP calculation. There are several threads on this.

I did a quick search and could not find references.
Sorry about this. |
Apologies, my wording conveyed a harsher tone than intended. My goal was to say that there are several threads that explain the background of what they did and why, so you're welcome to find them if you're interested. Here's one such thread about the A5/S5, but it applies across the board.

No problem. :)
I will look into your refered thread. Thanks! |
Particulate Filter
Reduced HP might be due to installation of particulate filter as described in this UK Audi forum: https://www.myaudiq5.com/index.php/t...tock-sq5-cars/

Could be both. If you knew it was the filter, you would yank it to get the power back. If you believe that the math changed, you'll accept it.

It's not the filter
