Sounds like BS to me...

Just bought a used 2016 Q5 2.0 and it clunks/jerks while slowing down and while speeding up, around or under 20 mph. It's surprisingly clunky and jerky at low speeds for a 'luxury' vehicle. I took it in the shop today and they told me it was the turbo around 3000rpm. I tested that and noticed what he was saying but the clunkiness/jerkiness is definitely something different.

I'm going to take it back in and hopefully there's a software fix. It seems like most of these posts are about 2018s, has anyone noticed and/or fixed this on a 2016?

Yes, having the S/S system being off by default and the button being used to turn it on, would be perfect.

I also have the same problem that OP reported on my 2018 q5. It has about 5000 miles and it is ruining the driving experiences in such a nice car if there wasn’t this issue. I took this to dealer two times. On the first visit, they gave me BS about car adapting to my driving style and will “learn”. Of course, the symptoms got worse after several thousand miles of driving. In the second visit, they also refused to acknowledge that this is a problem although the technicians felt the shudder. I have been regretting the purchase. If Porsche Macan has the solution, can Audi use it or tweak the solution if they are listening?

i find the combination of stronic + efficiency mode makes the the shudders worse for me. efficiency mode tends to cut out the 2 rear wheel and low gear shifts when stopping, just make my Q5 shivers!

could be normal behavior for the s-tronic DSG transmission on the Q5's - I've noticed the same on some A3 loaners that have the s-tronic transmission (same behavior on a loaner 3yrs ago as a more recent a3 loaner.) Didn't bother me so much on the loaners though I don't have this issue on the SQ5 which uses the tiptronic automatic transmission. I remember reading somewhere, Audi was hesitant about more widespread usage of DSG transmissions a while back because of this.

Ditto... I’m at 4K miles and the shudder is the same for me as it was at 40 miles. Have to wonder if we’re all referring to the same issue.

Any updates on this issue??? Has the dealer software update resolved the problem?
