Thanks guys I'll ask for that. They did order it because I got the email from Audi saying the order has been placed but that is literally all they have / will tell me.

If your dealer doesn't have an open allocation then your order will sit until they are given an allocation. The more cars they sell, the more allocations they are given.

My guess is that the dealer ordered the car for you but they did not have an open or changeable allocation with Audi currently. I think the next time allocations come up is the 10th of July, but I am not sure.

I placed my order on May 23rd. My order has a production week of 3117, which is about the first week of August. I anticipate it to arrive near the end of August.

I imagine most typical orders assuming normal conditions and average distances is roughly 3 months from the date your order is placed. Of course there are those exception cases.

Thanks to everyone's help I canceled my order with the current dealer. They made up some story and switched my COMM at the last second and all of a sudden had allocation. I said no and canceled. Went to a different dealer, got 7% off and a delivery date on the spot. Very happy now.

The new dealer was was very clear it should be 90-120 days when you order. I sat around for a month with no results. Bummed about that but happy I found a legit dealer.

Congrats! I had the same thing happen to me with that Mazda dealer I mentioned--cost me 6 weeks.

It is all good now--and 7% off on a Q5 is awesome!

As update on build times, this weekend my dealer modified an existing order placed on 6/19. Build date is scheduled for 3517, 9/1/17. Dealer delivery ETA is 9/16/17-10/7/17.

That is my build schedule too. Seems so far away.

Default Delay Q5

I placed my order for my prestige Q5 blue utopia on April 4th, at that point they had given me an ETA of begging of june, then they changed it to end of June, then after that end of July, now I called them for them to tell me not until the end of August, I'm wondering if it will be anytime this year...

sounds like the same thing that happened to me. I believe your dealer is waiting for allocation to even get it ordered. Is it a small dealer? That's the mistake I made and they kept dragging it out. I decided to cancel with them and went to a bigger dealer, got a better price, and all the details from the online ordering system right away. The large dealer said any order should be 90-120days.

I feel your pain. I would try to get the truth out of the dealer.
