Q5 wheel compatibility for 2018 vs earlier model years
I am researching a new winter wheelset for my 2018 Q5 Premium Plus.
My Q5 has 20" wheels with 255/45R20 tires. I would like to use 18x8" wheels with 235/60R18 tires for the winter.
My preference is to stick with Audi wheels mainly because I like the way they look.
There are quite a few sites that sell refurbished OEM wheels, but only limited options are available for 2018. However, there are quite a few wheelsets from earlier years that are moderately priced and would make a decent winter wheelset - assuming that they fit.
From my reading/research - for proper fit, the following need to match:
Bolt pattern: 5-112mm
Offset: 39mm
Hub bore: 66.5mm
Are there any differences from 2018 compared to 2017 and earlier?
If not, then I would assume I could select wheels listed for 2017 models and they would fit properly.
Can anyone verify that my information and assumptions are accurate?
Should I be concerned about refurbished vs new?
Thanks!

Would like to know as well if anything obvious about previous gen wheels that would cause issue.
That said, the one assumption about offset you made is incorrect. It doesn't have to be identical, you have some leeway. And if you lower it too much you'll just need spacers. That is that part that I'm curious about- what range do we have to play with without going too low or going too high, as you don't want it pushing past the fender too much if at all (preference).

Should be no problems running previous gen wheels whatsoever, especially for narrower tires (eg 235). As long as the wheel offset is between +30 to +45ish, you're good to go. As you already indicated hub bore is the same for both gens.

Manufactures don't usually change the rims dimensions from year to year so you should be fine with a rim from a previous model even if it's a little smaller.
The most important thing is the bolt pattern and the hub bore.
Also, make sure you use a tire size calculator when you buy new rubber so that you run the same wheel diameter as the factory size wheel otherwise the speedometer will be off.
Just google "tire size calculator" and you'll find something to help.

Thanks to all for your responses, I have a much better feel on how to find a proper match.
Anyone care to share their experience with refurbished OEM wheels? There are a few online retailers that have a good selection, but their reviews are somewhat of a mixed bag.

Here is my experience. I had an older set of Audi "peelers" that came off of a 2012 SQ5. The offset is 33. They fit perfectly with 255/45/20 tires. Here is a pic to show the look. I thought the titanium looked good with the silver paint.

2008-2018 Q5 Wheels Compatibility
Got a 2011 Q5 that came with ...
17' - 8R0601025G with E8Jx17H2ET39, it was upgraded by Audi upon delivery to 18' - 8R0601025C with E8Jx18H2ET39.
I am looking for another upgrade as a mate has a set of spare 19' from his 2015 Q5 S-Line package, it's 19' - 8R0601025CD with E8Jx19H2ET27.
My question here is, will the 19' fit? Is ET27 vs ET39 a concern on my 2011 Q5? If it is, will spacer work, though I personally prefer to fit the rim on without any third party or additional spacers used? In addition, I also use Konig T2 Magic snow chain in winter, the chain is 15mm thick, will it be a concern if I fit the 19' ET27 wheel on (as it is with no spacer used) as well as the 15mm snow chain? The snow chain factory noted "16 mm inside and on-the-tread clearance." required.
Also will the original bolts from my 18' safe and good for use on the proposed 19' wheels mentioned above?
Much appreciated.
