Replacing 2018 Q5 MMI screen with bigger Android screen ?
Has anyone yet tried to replace the inbuilt screen with an android screen like rsnav ?
The purpose is to get a bigger screen and with touch and inbuilt android options. ( I know many think that touch screen has safety issues but I would love to have it. I do not intend to use it while driving )

THis is for upto 2017 Q5 but mailed the company and was told that it will work for 2018 model too with a little modification... Apparently, they are releasing an update B9 version which will be fully compatible with 2018 Q5

Relaunching this topic ... I also find my 2018 Q5 screen too small, a wider screen would be great. I have seen various screens upgrade available for Q5 2018 but I am not sure about the compatibility and the diffculty to install it. Looks like when installing these new screen you can still keep the original audi menu and all original controls which fits my need (I only want to have a bigger screen, I am not really interested by the Android capabilities as I always use CarPlay). If anyone has done this type of modification, any experience sharing would be great.

However, recently there have been lots more of these screen show up.
rsnav is using android 9 but I saw on aliexpress some of them with android 10. \
I do not have the technical knowledge to upgrade the screen. Will have to find a shop that would do it.
Hope someone has the courage to do an upgrade and report here.

I'm interested as well. I pulled the trigger on a Android screen from Alibaba for my BMW F30 and if that pans out, very interested in doing the Audi. The lack of touchscreen and wired Android Auto is a PITA....

Otherwise, there are screens that are listed in ebay/aliexpress, which are specifically meant for Q5 2018 or later series.
In any case, please post your experience and a guide will be awesome too :-)
Good to hear.
When I initially posted touch screen, I was almost blown out of water with people saying how dangerous it is to have a touch screen.
I never got used to the mmi interface and it is cumbersome and is more dangerous. Using Android auto is a pain without touch screen.
I am happy Audi finally decided to go touch screen on Q5

I saw the place in TO yesterday when Googling. Just happens Aliexpress has them all on sale for this week, so the price of the better/faster (and supposed to have Wireless Carplay AND Android Auto) dropped from ~$900CAD to ~$550CAD. The place in TO is still ~$900 with the loaded feature set.
For $500, I'm willing to give it a whirl. For $1000, I was on the fence. Regardless, once I see how it works, and if it's good, I'd be interested in doing the SQ5 as well.
