Rodents ate wires in my 2018 Q5!!!
Had it for just 2 weeks. All the lights came up today. Took it to the dealer, the service department discovered disconnected wires behind the right rear tire. I was told this was not covered under warranty/package.
I live in downtown area in a city and some stupid rats/raccoons/whatever cost me big bucks because they ate the wires? How ridiculous is that!!! Are the wires made from some type of food???
I'm still waiting for the estimate of the cost. Won't be cheap for sure.

This is not an uncommon event. Rodents and other small animals love to chew on wires and nest in engine compartments. Do a global AW search - others have had this issue and some have offered various preventative measures.
Check your insurance policy - you may be covered.

Ouch
Very sorry to hear this. For some reasons rodents do like Audi wires!
It could be far worse (and since this is an Audi Forum..). Go to 2:45 for the main event, and horror.

You are right. I saw similar tragedies happen to others on the Internet. The findings just disappointed me more. This issue has been going on for a while and cost consumers a lot to fix it. But why are the manufacturers still using the same materials in the coating when knowing this could be a big problem??? They just don't care about what happens to their customers, do they...
