SiriusXM trial is over and now my radio doesn't work
I've owned my '18 SQ5 for 3 months. Yesterday the XM trial subscription expired and now the ONLY thing I can listen to is the promo channel for XM radio. I can't even get to FM radio. Any ideas on how to change the band?

The owners manual details in detail how to switch between audio sources.

I'd try the hard reset (hold the two toggle buttons forward, and press the MMI **** down). It will restart the MMI.
For the record, the Audi manual is brutal. Has half truths, misinformation, and covers functionality that isn't even available on my vehicle in my area (IE massaging front seats). That's a Q7 only option in my region. They should have spent more time on getting the content right, and less time populating 1/2 of each page with legal disclaimers.

Just keep clicking the radio tab to cycle through bands. Or slide the **** left when on the radio screen and select AM or FM. Or press the voice command button and then say "tune to (station number)". Like "tune to 102.1"

The hard reset did NOT work. Weird. I didn't try the verbal command approach--that would have been interesting. Its too late to test that now because I solved the problem. How? By paying for a SiriusXM subscription. I plunked down 100 bucks and it "unlocked" the radio so now I can listen to FM again.

That's not a fix. Trip to the dealer would have solved that for free.

Sure whatever. Wasting $100 on repetitive XM is worth money to me as well. Obviously you like XM, so you spent $100 to keep the service going. NOBODY would spend $100 just to get FM back, which will die (in your case) once your subscription expires. You're eventually going to have to hit the dealership for one reason or another.
