Default SQ5 Biturbo Diesel

Looks like the Bi-turbo diesel is back... Almost same hp output but heaps more torque plus its faster and uses less fuel. Just missing a bit of the fun factory in the sound department thou but the fake active sound in the muffler should help. Audi use the same tech as the SQ5 with 48v electric turbo reduce any lag. Looks very tempting

Diesel is definitely making a come back.

Unfortunately unlikely to make an appearance in the states. Similar to manuals, no one is gonna buy an audi/vw diesel here any time soon

The TDi is a greater engine. The Bi-Turbo TDiis even better. Unfortunately, they will probably never make it back to the US.

From what I've seen, the SQ7 (outside US) comes with the turbo diesel, and some have a 48V 7kw supercharger to eliminate bottom end turbo lag. Sounds interesting!

We had the single turbo TDi until 2016. After Dieselgate hit they stopped importing them to the US.

+1 ^What he said. Audi/VW dropped all indications of diesels from their website and showrooms when that emissions scandal came out to protect the brand.

What a shame not to be imported. Reading the initial reviews, it looks like it would be a tad quicker than the SQ - possibly break into the high 4's. And the mileage numbers in the mid 30's would be wonderful.

Which is why I'm very surprise that it was release. I thought Audi/vw wont be releasing the bi-turbo ever again. Not only did they release it but they improved it yet again. Until the news broke for this bitubro SQ5, Audi/vw was only releasing single turbo diesel version of the 3.0tdi with new model such as the A6/A7 worldwide.

I recon with the way it is setup using electric turbo down low to eliminate any lag, it will most likely be in the 4's coz the old one was already doing 5.1 with less power and not using electric motor.

If it's in the 4's itsi still behind BMW and MB. My X3 M40i did 0-60 in 4.3-4.4s on the street with AS tires stock
