SQ5 vs S5 acceleration difference?
Quite pleased with my 2018 SQ5 and its performance feels every bit of the 5.0 sec time to go from 0-60 that the car magazines quote. I could help but notice the same magazine (Car and Driver) tested the 2018 Audi S5 Sportback reported a (much) quicker 4.4 time 0-60 as well as quicker quarter mile time. The SQ5 of course weighs in 550 lbs heavier.
Could that weight be only difference affecting performance between the cars?

With the differences in the 0 - 60 and 0 - 100 times, wouldn't you think there would be a greater difference in the 1/4 mile times??

Sq is a bit heavier but the drag is the biggest thing. S5 tapers much more in the rear than the flat hatch of the Sq. Frontal area is much smaller on the s as well but I imagine the rear of the car plays into it just as much

If you wanted faster the BMW X3 M40i does 0-60mph in 4.4s or less stock (I had one and my best run on All season tires was 4.3s). Audi makes great AWD but lacks true launch control

Having had a 2018 S5 before my 2018 SQ5 I will say the difference is noticeable, but the SQ5 is still plenty fast and I overall like it better than my S5.

I had the S4 B8.5 and loved it, and all the S4 fans say the "The two box type cars are better than three". The drag on the SQ5 is less then the three box type car. Think soap box.

Which is funny considering the SQ5 has a numerically higher final drive ratio 3.204:1 vs. the S5's 2.848:1 (According to Audi website.)
If they were equal the SQ would be even slower.
