Traffic Jam Assist

Tesla has auto pilot, Audi had lane Assist. Two different things. And the lane assist can be a little tricky at times. When a new lane forms in the roadway, it might want to take a different lane that you do. And sometimes it wants to take an exit off the highway whey you had planed on staying. It is really useful if you take your eyes off the road for a second or two. If I take my hands off the wheel for more than a few seconds, I get the warning to put my hands on the wheel. (Unlike Wires, my car only tells me to put my hands on the wheel when I take them off.) Must be a setting.
I had a 2017 Acura RDX with lane assist and it was pretty bad. Even when I would drive on a repaved re striped interstate, every 20 seconds it would lose the lane. The Audi keeps it 99 % of the time.,

I appreciate all the input as I do like the Q5 and think it did a great job with the traffic jam assist. I spent 30-minutes in traffic that day and it kept me from getting frustrated. Always a learning curve on a new car especially one with lots of features.

It seems the "put your hand on the wheels" has to do with the car sensing the wheel moving due to human intervention. On really smooth roads, I do get some false prompts. It is about 12 seconds of "no input from the user" that triggers the warning.
