Vehicle not recognizing Key fob
Anyone have this problem or ran across it ?
Vehicle won't recognize the key fob. Have had it in now 5-6 times first it was battery was low after maybe 2 weeks ,they replaced the battery... When it did it again they replaced the key fob thinking that was the problem. Its the main key shiny back. Would go out to the garage to start it up and nothing , then this (see attached) would pop up on the dash. Second time in , SW said the tech said no codes , replaced key fob, third time in SW said the tech said strange its only showing codes for the other key ??? Yet replaced the same key fob again !. Within 2 weeks , same thing all over again. Last time in they replaced the key fob and the Comfort Module part # 1 8WO - 907-064 FH Control Unit Picked up the vehicle ,, 3 days later getting the same thing... https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...a5c0e03eed.jpg |
Glad no one else is having this problem !
They have no had our car in so far 6 times and over 35 days . They have replaced 5 fobs (Audi saying they had a batch of bad fobs) Last time around this past week they once again replaced the fob and Gateway Control Module ? We'll see if this fixes it. |

If it acts up again we'll be in contact with Audi Corp .
This isn't the only concern we've had with it. It drifts right no matter what lane you are in, all tires are wearing feathering bad . They have checked alignment a couple times , supposedly road force balanced all 4 tires . It has a low grumble ( knock ? ) noise cold start that changes with rpm's . Once warmed up or even go a few blocks noise seems to disappear . Brakes click or ? through the brake pedal (have read other posts here as it being a solenoid ? ) but stop and go after 3 streetlights and it still does it ? We really like the Q5 , but this is ridiculous for this kind of money and a fob doesn't work along with the other concerns (problems) . Side not , last time it was in it happened to the lead tech . The fob wouldn't work . |

The funny thing I find about this is that why the hell doesn't it tell you where to place the key fob? Look it up in the manual. It's dark, your car won't start and now you have to fumble through your manual. Egads.

Lol. Let’s just put it down to Friday manufacturing. You know...engineers go out and get wasted Thursday. They come into work on a Friday and have a real bad hangover. October fest is pretty big over in Germany. Best not to buy a car that was manufactured that month either.
