Windshield Replace
2018 SQ5 here, getting my windshield replaced from a large crack.
Dealer quote is $1300 for the glass install + $400 for audi presense alignment.
Any idea if this is in line? Sounds high but I've never replaced a windshield on a higher end car.

Check with your auto insurance company before proceeding - at least here in New England glass coverage is included at little or no cost to the insured (I recently had the front windshield on my RAV4 replaced at zero cost to me). Not sure if that's just a New England thing or not...

Yes, Audi windshield replacement at the dealer can be pricey.
I had my S6 windshield replaced which has all the bells and whistles.
$1130 4G0-845-009-H-NVB Glass
$88 8U0-955-609 rain gel pad
$94 windo-weld adhesive
$465 labor
Total $1777 so you are in-line with what's normal dealer cost.
FWIW you can still get it done at the dealer and then submit to insurance afterwards...they may only pay partially but still better than nothing.

Sounds like you already checked with your insurance but so,e policies have separate windshield replacement plans. I have State Farm and our windshield deductible is $100. Worth asking again maybe.

Glass overage is typically separate. On a previous car in NC, I had 0 deductible glass. Now in MD, I think I have a $50 deductible
Find out if your insurance covers oem glass or aftermarket. There's a biiiiiig difference in price and sometimes quality

Check with your dealer, he may send it out and if her does, you might get a better deal elsewhere.

My 2018 Q5 had an impact that required a glass replacement. I went with Safelite and replacement came great. Only OEM glass was offered (must regardless) and calibration was also done by them. Replacement came great. No issues with Pre Sense post repair. Out of pocket was the comprehensive deductible.

BMW ones came in around $1700 for me but cost only $100 through Safelite or the dealer
Be aware of "wind noise", look for it before they repair, and after. If they mount the glass at the wrong height, you will hear it.
