I keep the MMI audio (radio/media) muted sometimes. However, everytime I start the car, the audio always comes back on, regardless of the MMI state when I last shut down the car. Is there a way to automatically force the MMI audio to mute when the car is started?

You need activate hidden menu via vcds. In hidden menu, "MMI", "setting", "switch on max ent." set it to zero. MMI will stay mute everytime you switch on. Hope it helps.
