1st Post - Got me a 2015 Q7 -TDI (and a question)
Been a VW for many years. The Toyota Sienna was ready to go, and here I am with a sweet Q7 (diesel). My first question people. I have OEM roof rails from Audi and for the life of me I can't get the freakin locks to lock. They do lock when they are not on my roof.
Any secrets out there? Am I missing something obvious? Do I need to adjust these before I install them? I was able to get both rails clipped on, I just can't lock them.
Nice to be a part of the Audi Community.

It will have a TDI badge on the right side of the trunk hatch, the inside of the gas cap will say diesel only, there will be a ad blue tank filler in either behind the gas cap or in the spare tire area, and the engine shroud will say TDI. Probably lots of other ways to tell.

Try loosening the hasps so there is more play to allow for the clamping down. I believe there was a nut inside. Also make sure you are in the holes on roof rails. Much easier with a helper. And yes, it is a PIA.

The problem was that the 'opening' that the slot fits into when you turn the key was bent back a bit and the 'slot' would not fit into it. Bottom line, Audi tech bent it forward a bit and key could turn and could lock. Thanks for the feedback people. Glad to be part of a new community!
