Default 2.0 Engine

I'm interested in a new Q7 with 3.0 liter engine and find most of the dealers in my area are loaded with 2.0 liter engine. Curious to know how well does the Q7 perform with this small four banger engine? Thank you and I look forward to your comments

I have a 2012 prestige s line (333 hp) and the last time I took it in for service they loaned me a 2.0. You really have to drive it hard to get the performance I get out of my 3.0. If you don't care about performance then the 2.0 is fine but having had the big HP 3.0 for a few years it really doesn't work for my driving style at all.

That's exactly what I thought as the Q7 is almost a 5k# vehicle, and the four banger 2.0 has to be too small. Audi corporate is really loading up their dealers with this engine in the Q7l. I believe the 3 liter engine is around $6300 extra which I think is absorbent but if II buy a Q7 I won't settle for anything but the 3.0 engine. Thank you for your follow-up!

Will it really though? Thats a lot of weight to haul with a 2.0

Coming from a A4 Avant with a 2.0T I always thought the 2.0 Q5/Q7s would be way underpowered. Personally, it would not be for me.

I have a 2018 Q5 2.0 loaner right now, the power is not that great and it weighs less than the Q7. I've driven the older 16-17 Q7's with both engines (once again loaners, extended time to review. The smaller engine is terrible. You will not save fuel, any more than you being faster with one leg.) Buy once and buy right; saving money means playing the long game.
