2007 Audi Q7 Low Oil Pressure Alert
Greetings,
I'm trying to get my car fixed, but the Audi dealership is saying that they cannot locate the problem that I am having with this CAR (no codes).. I am hopeful that you may be able to assist. AT start up usually in the AM the low oil pressure alert comes on along with a rough idle. The sensor was replaced to see if that was the issue, but the problem still persists. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hello,
Oil pressure warning means one of five things:
Low oil level, bad oil pressure sensor, faulty oil pump, clogged oil filter, clogged oil passages in the engine or engine wear.
I suggest you go to check it in a service.

The 3.0 TDI is notorious for oil pressure sender failure.
My 2011 Q7 hasn't done it yet, but my 2010 Touareg has.
Went into limp mode every time i revved past 2000 RPM.
I researched it online a ton and saw often the dealers can't reproduce the issue and won't replace parts.
I didn't go to the dealer though. Note: there's two different oil pressure senders and i ordered the wrong one online.
My brother got one from Autozone and replaced it. It was a universal part but worked great.

2007 so I'm guessing its a 3.6L V6 (VR6) or is it a 4.2?? If a 3.6 it's probably not going to be very affordable to repair. The timing chain guides can break apart and clog the oil pump's pickup tube or the oil pump needs replacement. The chains and guides is expensive and requires the engine to be pulled. The oil pump resides behind the timing chains on the intermediate shaft. Maybe the pickup tube's screen could be cleared and not replace the guides but the oil pan would need to be dropped and I don't think that's an easy job in a q7.
