Default 2008 q7 brake light issue

So last year i had a drivers rear brake light out. The one closer to the license plate. I changed the bulb and it still didn't work. Checked all the wires replaced the bulb again with another new one and nothing. Went crazy for about two hours making sure the wires were ok, ground was okay and nothing. The next morning i had no warning and the light worked. Totally confused but it worked so i left it alone. Now yesterday it happened again. The light is out and i replaced it with a brand new bulb and it still doesn't work. What am i missing? is there something specific to this bulb or location that im not aware of. The bulb actually didn't even look bad. The filaments looked like they were still connected. I have the vag software but what will that do for me. I see everything okay when i run it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Make sure you're using genuine sylvania 7506 bulbs, I use the long lasting bulbs, I was using 1156 bulbs and experiencing similar problems until I used proper bulbs.
