Default 2014 Q7 TDI Tuner

I have been looking at tuners for my 2014 Q7 TDI and the Kerma tuner looks interesting. My car is stock and I will tow with it on occasion and would like some more fuel economy if possible. Anyone here have the Kerma Tuner?

Kerma and Malone both do very nice tunes, you will be happy with it.. though I would go Malone Stage 1 w/EGR deactivated personally, unless Kerma will do that (they dont advertise it)..

Also Kerma's site makes it look like you can flash back to stock before taking it back to the dealer, and yeah you can do that.. but the dealer tool will still throw a TD1 flag even w/stock tune re applied, dont expect the #dieselgate warranty to remain.

Malone seems to have a larger following and I have never heard a bad thing about them.

Ok, so Malone has more capabilities as far as getting a tune for all types of mods, and they have the flashzilla which would allow me to load it myself. What about the TCU, is there multiple options to getting it flashed back to the way it was before the fix? I have some towing to do and want my car to be at it’s best.

Ive only found one person capable of restoring the original pre-fix TCM tune, he's on these forums: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/mem...urbside-34928/

Thanks, I sent him a message, but it looks like he hasn't been active in a month. It looks like Malone can tune for anything. I will order the flashzilla and work with malone on a custom tune. I only want the best from my car and for it to last 500k miles thats all .

I ordered the flashzilla over the weekend since I decided to go with Malone and I emailed with them today. It seems for a stock car there is only the basic stage 2 available. I asked about egr disable when warm and such, but they said no. I will talk with someone more tomorrow but it seems like for a stock car it is just a generic tune and not customizable. I will find out more soon.

On their site it indicates you can pay extra for those options, but it does say offroad only and mebe now days they want you to do the full delete: https://malonetuning.com/ecu-tuning/...tdi/30l-v6-tdi

on my 2.0L I took it to a local malone dealer cuz they hadent yet cracked ECU for port tuning yet and they had just been released.. they actually hadda remove ECU and crack it open and then seal it back up, I paid a little extra to get the EGR deactivated and dynamic idle but left the DPF intact (no AdBlue) because I was not sure about emissions process at the time, and around here if they check readyness they will pass you with just one not reporting but not two.. once I had my diesels tested and saw nobody looked at anything or plugged anything in I regretted leaving the DPF.

Guess that means yeh just delete it all :P

I’m learning, I think maybe I’m asking the wrong questions lol, here’s the response from Malone:
Stage 1 and stage 2 with stock hardware, can't really make custom modifications since the vehicle is limited by exhaust temperatures. https://malonetuning.com/ecu-tuning/...tdi/30l-v6-tdiYou cannot modify emissions components if it has to be road legal.
