Default 275 /45/20 Michelin Experience?

I have 2015 Q7 Premium Plus with 20 inch wheels. Great vehicle (much better than the 2014 MDX it replaced). I am not happy with the Pirelli tires that came with the vehicle and I have put on 12,000 miles. Rain traction is not very good, ride is harsh and they are noisy (especially on SE Michigan's terrible roads).

I typically buy Michelin tires but I recognize each car has different characteristics when it comes to tires. I have a couple questions:
1. Anyone have experience with the Michelin Latitude Tour HP tires on their Q7?
2. I noiced there is a new Michelin tire -- Michelin Premier LTX -- Michelin Premier LTX tires | Michelin US
Any experience?
3. Any other better choices?

I am ready to replace the Pirelli tires this week (even though they have lots of tread left). Thanks in advance for your advice.

Wait to see if the Defender LTX M/S is released in this 275/45R20 size. You will WANT this tire, I promise you. Michelin's LTX tire line is their very heart and soul, highly sought after for commercial vehicles based on long tread life, unbelievable durability and yet a quiet ride. They also handle very well in the rain and snow (M+S). I had them on a couple old Toyota pickups back in the 90's, and I sorely miss them.

The Defender is set to replace the LTX M/S-2 tires (which themselves replaced the legendary LTX M/S which has been unrivaled since the early 90's).

They don't currently carry a 20" size for the Q7, but they state a new batch of sizes is coming in June.

I would venture to guess this tire will offer 50,000 miles or more of service on the Q7, if we can get them.

Thanks I cave the Scorpion Verde tires and they seem better than your experience with the Assimmetrico tires.

I had the new Michelin Premier LTX 275/45/20 tires installed on Friday and just returned from a 500 mile road trip. No complaints - tires were smooth and quiet. Big improvement over the stock Scorpion Zero tires.

My 2012 originally had the Pirelli Asymetrico's. They lasted about 20K miles for me. I've ran Yokohama Parada Spec-X ever since. I'm about 10K miles into my second set. I got almost 50K out of the first set. Good tire overall. My only complaint is when you do get down to those final 32nd's, they do get a bit noisier than I'd like them to be. But, there is no perfect tire.

Good luck,
Jesse

Hi Audi Vader, could you provide an update on the use of the Michelin LTX 275/45/20 - still happy with the tires, noise and performance in weather? How is the wear - how many miles on the tires at this point?

I ended up replacing the Michelin tires after 1000 miles. Check out this thread: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-...n-buy-2902905/
