3.0 TDI P042E & P042F, as well as Engine Codes 31982, 31983
Hi folks. Been getting the glow plugs coil icon each day for the last week. IveI been clearing it in motion using Carista. Wanted to know if there is something to look at before I go replacing the EGR valve assembly. Codes below. Also, I can't find anything on those two specific engine codes further down. Anyone have insight? Would this be a covered item on the extended warranty?
Also, brakes are making a lot of noise on stopping but I haven't had any wear sensors trigger. Do I need to replace calipers along with pads, and do rotors need to be changed every time also?

Has your engine had the emmisions fix? The EGR valve would be covered by the 120000 mile extended warranty.
As to brakes. Look at the pad thickness. If under 3 mm it’s time for new ones. I typically change rotors every other pad change. Again, depends on wear. Measure thickness and look for a lip at the edge. Calipers normally last the life of the vehicle.

Well, Ours just showed the same faults. We are on vacation. I stopped and cleared with Carista and it’s been fine for 300 miles or so. Any advice before I can get to dealer in a week will be appreciated.

Update. Back home now. 600+ miles later and fault has not reoccurred. Now we wait.

2015 Audi Q7 TDI - Got the same fault and engine codes. After 219 miles, the dashboard warning lights went away, but they still show up as "completed" in via ODBC II with CarScanner 2.0 for Android. Have driven 261 miles and dashboard warning lights haven't returned. Waiting for the dealership to call me back with recommendation. TBD

FYI Now 10 months and about 15000 miles later and the faults never came back on ours.
