Activating headlight washers

My Q7 is very early production. It had a slight flaw in washer alignment from new and used to stick in the out position. Eventually I filed the guide slot a little, after that it retracted problem free. You can just grab the edges and pull it out slowly if you want to check the nozzles. It is spring loaded to retract.

The head light washer only comes on the S-line audi
If that's really the case (and not some salesman blowing smoke), they should work when your headlights are on and you use your windshield washers. However, my Cayenne used to do the headlights every 3rd or 4th time the windshield washers were used; and since the Cayenne and the Q7 are kissing cousins, the Q7 might work the same way..
