Adblue fillup Q7 TDI
It's the first time since i bought it, that to give the Q7 Adblue. I was doing some browsing online and found out the following:
1. It's roughly 6 gallons (23 liters)
2. Audi sells it in 1.9 liter bottles for appox $12
3. You need to buy it from Audi because the bottle neck has a special tool on it. Basically you have to turn the bottle clockwise after you put it in the fill port. This diverts adblue to the "passive" tank instead of the "active" tank. Passive tank is main storage for the Adblue.
So the main question is this: Can i buy and use DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) for waaaaay cheaper rates at Autozone. I was going to buy one bottle from audi for the bottle neck purposes. Then after using it, i would cut the bottom of the bottle and essentially use it as a tank in which i would pour the DEF.
Any info is appreciated

Have a look at this video. You can skip the first half and then see that after Audi will change the software - cars will use a lot more ADBLUE. I think it is very likely that they will supply this, perhaps free of charge, for the first XXX miles given the Diesel fiasco.

went to the dealer yesterday to pick up a 0.5gal bottle with the special nozzle. They bring out the 2.5 Gal jug without the nozzle and try to pretend they dont have it. Then the guy goes "why don't you go over to service they will fill it up for you". Yea and spend $200+ in the process no thanks.
