Aftermarket Rear-seat DVD/LCD headrest
Does anyone have experience with the above? I just bought a new Q7 (today!) and will be receiving delivery in ~2 weeks. Coming from the XC90 with built-in Rear-Seat Entertainment, we need something for the kids.
I've found a lot of aftermarket (made in China) replacement headrest systems with dual 7/9" LCD's / DVD/ IR headphones etc for ~$350-400. I know these are "cheap" and the quality might not be great but not looking to spend 2k on this. It just needs to last a few years . We don't take a ton of roadtrips. And I know the headrests won't match the Audi ones...

Here's what I did....

I went to Sam's club and bought the RCA DVD car unit. I think it was about $180 for both DVD players. The kids can either watch the same thing or different movies. The volume is great and the picture is great also. My 5 and 2 year old wont complain about the quality. The Velcro strap around the head rest works great also, they are very tight, don't move around and easy to uninstall. The units are thin and close to the headrest so their not in the way.
I also looked at the Philips 10.2 Portable player at circuit city. They where about $250 each. I didn't like these because they stuck out away from the headrest about 3 or 4 inches which doesn't sound like a lot but the kids bumped them all the time, the headrest bracket that came with them was a great idea but the DVD's shook the whole time I drove and last the flip down screen would flip down on its own while i was driving and I would have to put it back up. I took them back to circuit city the next week.
I hope this helps!

Yes, it's an S-Line
It's only being delivered in ~2 weeks so I wasn't sure if it had 1 or 2 outlets! But thanks for confirming there is only 1.
I found this option as well (although it requires light install)..check the link.

click
