ami not recognizing ipod?
I went by the dealer to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything, I wasn't. The system is not recognizing the ipod is connected. This is the first time I have tried to use ami. Any clues?

What generation of iPod do you have. My first generation (classic as I like to say) does not work, however the new purchased a month ago does. I have been testing my stuff in a friends Q7 since mine is not here yet and discovered that mine did not wor (so bought a new one).

Can I get a cord for an MP3 player at the dealer? It doesn't HAVE to be an Ipod does it?
I just got a Sansa Rhapsody and subscribed. All the music I want for $15/mo. There's no way I'd buy an Ipod now.

to control it via the MMI it has to be an ipod. I think you can buy a cable
that will just allow any player with a headphone jack to connect, but no control of the device via MMI.
