Anyone retrofit LED daytime running lights in the front turn signal area yet?
It would probably look good, even for just half the space, if possible. The lateral (side) areas can remain functional as turn signal markers. I am only speculating though, because the connections may b not be available to accommodate both. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Jus! It looks like a cool mod.
I wonder if the S6 oem replacement preserves the turn signals. I'll show this to my stealer and see if they are willing to do it for me (so I don't void any warranties). The other diy option from eyeatl looks like a good back-up plan too.

Here's how I did the S6 LED lights, with turn singnals. Post at 7:18am

But I'm going to get myself the V12 ones. They're a much neater fit and run the whole length of the air intake, which looks much better IMO.
I have finally worked out how to VAG the control unit to keep the LED DRL's on when the headlights go on. This was an issue for me as all the Audi's you see with LED's have this function.

Thank you for all of the info you have given thus far. I'm attempting to make this modification with my 08' Q as well, but my technician is running into a bit of difficulty with the wiring. I copied what you have already posted and given it to them for the install, but it is still a bit unclear for them. Would you please be willing to send me a detailed message indicating how you wired the lights and how you over came them turning off once the headlights came on.
Your response and information is much much appreciated and would be extremely helpful.
Thank you!

To get the LED DRL sidelights to remain on, set the last digit in central electronics (9) to 2 (Northern Europe). This will keep the headlight DRL and sidelights in the bumper on in the day and allow the sidelights and headlights at night.
Just figured this out today...
