Audi 4L Q7 Sideview Mirror Assembly Removal...
I purchased a set of OEM V12 Mirror Housings to replace the stock body color units my vehicle came with from the factory. The shop I use is backlogged and could not get around to it. I am guessing this is something I could probably do myself with the proper instruction but unfortunately I cannot find any instructions. Anyone on here have instructions or a link or video?

There is one somewhere as it shows you having to move the glass to unclip two bits then the glass comes up and out of the third.
you can then get to the inside to split the housing from the base.
I bet they were not cheap, are they just chromed plastic or the true metal ones?

excellent! thank you.
yes sq5 will work too and perhaps they're even the same p/n but i ordered direct from EU to make it that much more authentic. (sarcasm to justify the change to begin with.)
i did this on one of my previous Q7 and it i really liked the look but on white it may not be as noticeable:

Iconoclast, do you know if it would be possible to tap into the puddle light wire and run the connection down under the doors to a LED strip that runs length of the doors? I have been thinking on doing this due to the poor brightness of the puddle lights in the mirrors. Plus it'd be nice to retain puddle lights with the wing mirrors folded up. I think if done right it would be very useful and look OEM. What do you think?
Not an Audi, but this is what I have in mind, but if I were to do it, I'd have a crisp 4300k white color temperature:

no idea but there are lights in the door that light up the floor acting as puddle lights in addition to the ones located in the mirror.

Maybe I'll have to attempt this and do a thread write up. Hardest part would finding a way to anchor the LEDs to the undercarriage. Good luck on your mirrors, I think the V12 mirrors will look very good on your white Q7. White SQ5s with the silver mirrors look good, very subtle yet adds a bit of sportiness to the look of the car.

same here... which i think is an odd feature. city drivers who fold mirrors still need light on the ground when approaching the vehicle. other vehicles i own(ed) offer this with the mirrors folded or unfolded and have additional lighting from the door handles shining on to the ground.
