Battery replacement
Time for a new battery in our Q7. Any recommendations or just dealer, I was quoted 267 for one.
How long can I run it without programming to the car? I am ordering a vag adapter and think it will take a few days before I can program it to the car, any harm?
Thank You

I doubt any harm would come from a few days or weeks of delay. On the other hand $267. is a great price from your dealer. Mine quoted similar on our 2011 back when we had it and I decided to let them do it even though I already had Vagcom.

if you are replacing the battery with the exact same CCA you dont need to do anything.
These are not laptop batteries the car can not know anything changed besides the CCA, that is the only thing it can test. there are no electronics in the battery.
If you replace it with one of a lower CCA the car will try and keep charging it until it reaches the correct CCA which the battery can not do etc etc...
I did a video on battery replacement and recoding it.
