Default PT: Bad smelling interior: Q7

Hello friends
I am the owner of a 2007 Q7.
I like it a lot, but the bad smell inside is driving me crazy ..
I cleaned everything from the floor, carpets, seats, everything. It seems to be fine, no smell, but when i drive the car again the smell is bad. The passenger compartment filter is new. It seems to me that it gets worse when I use air conditioning in an intensive way, for example to clear the windows, but I do not think the air coming out of the ducts smells bad ...

Anyone have ideas that might help?
Thank you very much!!

You'll probably need to pull the pollen filter and clean out the evap can - that's the only thing left that could cause it - if its coming through the HVAC.

Hello friends!
After replacing the filter, apply ac cleaning spray, bactericidal and fungicide .... the problem keeps up.
At audi they want more than 1000 euros to replace the evaporator, which says it is located under the dashboard and does not guarantee that it will solve ...
I still have not found the evaporator canister, I'll also try to clean it ...
Any ideas?

Thank you!!

Thank you for your help.
I can´te find the evap can... in audi dealer they say the best thin to do is replace the evaporator, wich is located behind the dashboard. This cost more than 1200e and they aren't sure will solve the problem... any ideas?

Thank you very much!

Unfortunately I have the same problem. Cleaning does not seem to help. No evaporator change and the smell is ongoing for second year already.

i wonder if you have some type of water leak. Does it smells like a damp, sweaty T-shirt? check the front driver and passenger side for wet carpet after a decent drive. I would also look at the headliner lol the way back to the rear for any signs of water leakage. Also the rear compartment where the spare tire resides. If any signs of water it could be the drain hoses for the sunroof.

Just for S&G's try a Damp Rid Fresh Scent Hanging Moisture Absorber. Walmart sells them, Walmart # 1394419.
Like $8.50 for 3 bags.
I have an old Indy 500 Pace Car that sits all the time and has a pretty custom factory interior. I noticed it smelling musty and hung one of these bags up in it.

After about 3 weeks I was amazed to see how much water it had pulled out of the car. If I had to guess I would say at least 2 to 3 cups worth.
Needless to say, one of those bags stays in it all the time now.
