Way outta my league as well, but WoW I like it. Really dislike the meshlike light grey material of my headliner.

Alcantara headliner is still offered in the Q7 outside the US market. It was part of the "Luxury package" in the US which they dropped for 2011. You can still order the parts from Audi... but it's extremely expensive and I have to think the labor would be high for the install. ~ gregtay

Thank you! I will take photos tomorrow without the flash. I think my ISO was set too high on my camera, because, you can barely see any finger marks with the naked eye.

how much did it cost with the black pieces to replaces the 'silver' pieces?

i have been reading all in, this is something around $3500 after installation, is that true?

i would like to do this with mine, since it is silver and i have black interior. the two tone look is not for me, i hated it on the a3 and having black or alcantara headliners in every other car i am a bit spoiled by it and used to it.

*btw; the rear controls and dome lights arent installed properly. take a look at them.
Thanks for the compliment. The Alcantara was ordered from Audi and installed by Audi, so I would say definitely OEM. You are correct the price would have been $3500 which is what I was willing to pay when I placed the order. Turns out the dealer forgot to special order it when they placed the order. As a result, they offered to pay for and install it when it came in.

As far the domelight alignment...I was replacing one of the dome lightbulbs and didn't snap it in place properly when I took the shot. Good eye!

You are absolutely right. It does look like the R8's. I used a Canon 5D Mark II to take the photos and my ISO on my camera and speedlight was set way too high, bc you can barely see any pattern at all with the naked eye. I will reshoot a few more photos tomorrow without the flash and post tomorrow night.

The main reason I went with the Alcantara is becasue I went with black on black and I wanted to break up the flow of the interior more.

I wish I would of ordered this for my Q5, it was only 1250 euro ($1795) for it. I was thinking about it, and was hoping they would also have a Alcantara Steering wheel so it would match my seats also.
