Default broken rear sun shade...pn ? CPO?

Hi folks,

I've got a 2013 Q7 and the rear sun shade on the driver side is broken. It basically doesn't wind all the way down and hangs out about 3-4', in addition the handle/locking mechanism seems to be defective and is bent and messed up.

Was wondering if someone here has replaced the shade, has a part number, or was successful in getting this replaced under CPO? I did read through the forum and most of the sun shade issues apply to the overhead vs. the ones in the rear doors.

TIA

Thank-you much...I was about to respond back to my original mail and just ask if anyone on the Q7 forum actually responds to questions...so glad for the link and I've bookmarked it.

Hi folks, just following up on this, but I ended up changing out the entire rear sun shade piece and it was pretty darn easy:
  1. remove 4 torx screws that hold the door in place
  2. use brute stretch to remove interior door panel, held in place via body pins
  3. remove the 8 or so torx screws holding the shade equipment in place and replace with a new one
  4. put everything back together and enjoy. Took less than 20 mins and works great now.

nice, thats easy.. I wonder how it got damaged.. I often worry about rolling the back windows down and not realizing those are up.. then again muh brats do the most wear and tear, so I've been interested if the'd last the long haul.. the've scratched my tint before.

I can tell you EXACTLY how it got damaged..."someone" pulled the handle straight down from the hooks that hold it in place and caused the little handles to break and I'm guessing that attempts to fix it caused excessive tension on the spring that pulls back the shade. But again...easy fix, so moving on to the next thing.

Actually the Q7 is at the dealership right now, they're putting in a new hatch motor and a tail light, both covered under the CPO. Plus it's get at great/cheap oil change ($109)...can't beat that even doing it myself.

seems that every q7 owner has had this thing damaged at some point during ownership. I know mine is as well. I never use the annoying sunshade in the back so i just closed it permanently but drilling a small screw into the latch and housing. Can't even see it. Total cost :$0.01 for the screw. haha
