Considering a 2008 or 2009 q7
It's been a while since I've been in the forums, but I hope I can still get some guidance.
Thinking about buying a 2008 or 2009 q7. Is there anything I need to be aware of? Any common malfunctions or problems?
I have not really found anything, but figured the q7 community will know best.
Thanks for your help!

Both good years! There were minor problems like a batch of Fob batteries arrived a bit dead. Not great press but wont affect you now!
Will you be towing? Get one with factory fitted package as rated 1000lbs heavier than aftermarket - Transmission cooling.
Introduction problems like Sunroof frame and drains were sorted by 2008/2009 and door locks that stayed active (killing battery) were also production updated by then.

Thanks for the info! Makes me feel better. There is an 08 Q7 S line trim with 40K miles. The person is asking 33K. Black on Black. I drove a beautiful 09, but I like the S style!
Thanks again for your help.

Just take a look to make sure the rubber gaskets on the door lowers are seated properly or near as. Not a big issue but some (as in 3 out of 42 reporting here) 08 S-Line had them curl out of line. Probably a bad batch. Havent heard any recent complaints and replacements seemed fine.
Feel the passenger side floor for damp. It is a sign that A/C drain is blocked. Minor issue/easy fix not particular to year or even Q7, just the bulkhead/firewall plug design can clog.
Total poll of Q7s on forum currently 889
