Does it make sense to buy a new Q7 now?
I'm considering upgrading to a new Q7, would it make sense to buy it now or stick with my 2008 and wait for the new one? How long will it take?

We bought a 2007 GL450 in Nov. 2006, most problems of any vehicle I ever owned. M B did take care of it, 22 visits, not including regular maintainence. Was first year and many issues. We bought a 2012 Q7 banking on many problems resolved.

I would wait for MY 14 redesign.
I think it's MY14, so availability should calendar year '13?
You will be all to familiar with the 2013s, not too distinct from you 08.
I would imagine the re-design will be a little more drastic both exterior and interior. Expect interior to be along the A6/A7 lines, and exterior to have new light clusters to fall in line with the rest of the family.
Of course, who knows when the OLED lights will be coming out, saw some technology preview, they had it on a Q7 I believe, and it looks awesome. Since the '10 Q7 had a very distinctive look with the LEDs lights, with the turn signals separated from the cluster, I think they might use the next Q7 to offer some newer cooler lighting tech.
Whatever comes with the next re-redesign, it will feel like a different model as compare to a 2013 and your 2008.

I'm waiting on the new Q7. I like the current generation, but really want the next variant to go on a strict diet, which I've heard to be the case. My wife has an Odyssey which will be replaced with a MY2015 Q7 TDI.
